love this piece by Javier Pérez titled ‘Carroña’. Ten stuffed crows carefully placed on a shattered red chandelier to look as if they were feasting on a dead animal.
This is at the Corning Museum of Glass right now and it’s so cool.
Did you know that my Crows Before Bros sketchbook page has been going viral off and on for six years? That’s wild! The finished illustration is now so many things! Like this sticker:
If you enjoy my artwork on Stuff and Things, you can find them at strangehours.com
I hope you don’t mind, but I slowed the gif down because that is a FANTASTIC move.
this is the kind of shit that gets described as “quickly disarmed him” in writing and truly doesn’t do it justice
The source for this is Akedemia Szermierzy’s excellent recreations of sword plays from Fior di Battaglia. They have a whole YouTube channel of crowdfunded HEMA (historical European martial arts) videos! (And by the end of it, you realize how much of actual melee combat is to end it as quickly and as viciously as possible, hopefully in your favor.)
